Wayne Graham – Founder / CEO / Portfolio Manager

Wayne has been involved in the investment industry for over 30 years. His strong background in fundamental equity research, coupled with experience in quantitative models, software development, hedge fund management, private equity, short term trading and his risk management mindset, have all positioned him to build the current StratBench low-latency arbitrage trading business and software. As one of the pioneers of hedge funds in South Africa, Wayne was CEO and CIO of various hedge fund operations for over 10 years. Prior to that he was a fund manager and analyst at Old Mutual Investments for 10 years. Throughout his career he has been actively involved in developing software to augment investment and trading decision making. StratBench is the culmination of all this experience, with the development of automated augmented intelligence strategies within the low-latency arbitrage space. He remains passionate about the industry and committed to using technology to take fund management to new levels. Critical to all of this though is his view that funds should be managed on an absolute return basis within a risk controlled process, and that returns should be engineered, not generated through luck.
